Slite ice hall, built in 2005-2007, turns the cement factory's waste heat into ice
No public skating is posted for the next 7 days. New sessions show here as soon as the rink posts them.
Slite ishall was built between 2005 and 2007 and was first named Cementa Arena. In 2023 it was renamed Heidelberg Materials Arena after the owner of the cement factory in Slite, which sponsors the arena both financially and with waste heat from production.
The heat from the factory is turned into ice in the ice hall, and the waste heat from the ice hall warms the artificial grass of the football pitch outside during the winter, so classic season sports can be played all year. The ice hall is used for figure skating, hockey and curling and has a gym, and the second floor holds Omega Gym.
IK Graip uses the arena as its home and runs figure skating, hockey, mountain bike and football training on the site. The arena has nine dressing rooms, two of them adapted for wheelchairs, as well as classrooms and a kiosk. Outside there are a heated football pitch, a padel court, an outdoor gym, a pump track and a bike park.
