Sopron's tent ice rink run by the Soproni Jégtörők hockey club, which dreams of a year-round ice hall for the city

The SMAFC Műjégpálya opens its doors to the Sopron public as well, with a high-quality ice surface that suits beginners and experienced skaters alike, and it also offers schools and kindergartens a chance to skate. It stands in a tent on Flandorffer Ignác utca.

Behind the rink is the Soproni Jégtörők ice hockey section, whose club page counts 2008 as its opening, 2012 as the start of its first youth team, 2017 as the year it entered 17 championships and 2019 as the year its membership reached 100. It now has about 100 youth members plus a 50-strong adult section.

The section's stated aim is to make ice hockey available to everyone in the city and the region. The club says Sopron needs a year-round ice hall and invites everyone to join as a Jégtörő, an Icebreaker.
