Spittal's town-run ice hall, the only one in its district
The Eis-Sport-Arena is Spittal an der Drau's ice hall, run by the town's Betriebs GmbH together with the Eisstock hall, the sports hall, the Stadtstadion and the drautal perle. In August 2024 it went into operation earlier than ever in the town's history and was already almost fully booked.
With the Nockhalle in Radenthein not opening that winter, it was the only ice hall in the district. Club ice hockey sets the rhythm: first training sessions and an U13 tournament with teams from Carinthia and Slovenia had already been held, with women's and U11 tournaments announced.
A photovoltaic system on the roof covers a considerable part of the energy costs. The roof structure itself was the subject of a renovation proposal that the town commissioned in August 2017.
