Currently out of season The ice rink is not open yet. The rink's page says it opens to the public on 27 October 2026 ("de Ireen Wüst IJsbaan gaat op 27 oktober open voor alle Tilburgers"); clubs can return from Monday 26 October. No public sessions are listed until it opens. Official schedule update
The Ireen Wüst IJsbaan opened in 2009 next to Tilburg's ice hockey arena, as an indoor long-track speed skating facility owned by the same municipality. It has a covered 400 metre track and a 30x60 metre sheet, and its entrance is reached through the T-Kwadraat sports complex. The ice is cooled with CO₂.
Alongside recreational skating, the programme has regular free ice hockey on the 30x60 sheet, speed-skate sessions on the 400 metre track and family sessions with a discounted ticket, where hard skating is not allowed. Sven Kramer Academy Tilburg is the only organisation allowed to give skating lessons during open hours.
On 15 October 2023 the former skater and multiple Olympic champion Ireen Wüst officially opened the 2023-2024 season at the rink's open day. In October 2026 the rink said its ice-making installation had failed and the ice had melted, so it could not yet open. The ice hockey arena next door is home to the Tilburg Trappers.
