The only ice arena in Tomsk, a regional sports complex opened in 2010
The Kristall sports complex calls itself the only sports facility in Tomsk with an ice arena. The general contractor handed over the new complex at the end of 2010; it was financed from regional and federal budgets, and it is a unit of the Tomsk Oblast Olympic reserve sports school.
The complex covers 6,190 square metres, of which the ice arena is 1,800. The arena works from early morning to late evening with no days off, including holidays, and a sharpening point and a snack bar with hot drinks and pastries serve visitors.
Besides the ice there are halls for choreography, acrobatics and martial arts, where sambo, kettlebell lifting, acrobatic rock and roll, sports aerobics, hockey and figure skating groups train. Free-skating sessions for the public are held every weekend.
