Tromsø ishall stands beside Fløyahallen and was taken into use in spring 2010, the first ice hall in Northern Norway and the 40th in Norway. The building holds an ice hall of about 2,300 square metres and a service building of 800 square metres, and the hall has room for about 500 spectators.
The municipal culture committee decided the name. The Labour Party, which had a clear majority in the committee, proposed calling the hall Isflaket, but one of its own members backed the Progress Party's proposal, Tromsø ishall, and that name was adopted.
Tromsø ishockeyklubb, Tromsø skøyteklubb and Ishavsbyen kunstløpklubb all call the hall home. The figure-skating club, founded in 2014, organised the Norwegian figure-skating championships here on the last weekend of January 2024, and its chair said then that the hall was well maintained and in good condition.
