A permanent 600 m² rink in an insulated shed, home of the Valencian winter sports federation
Fun On Ice is a Valencian company that runs a permanent rink beside the Bonaire centre in Quart de Poblet. The 600-square-metre ice sheet sits inside an 800-square-metre insulated shed held at a constant 12 degrees Celsius. The installation system is registered with the Spanish patent and trademark office as a utility model, number 201.330.346.
The rink is the seat of the Winter Sports Federation of the Valencian Community. The Fun On Ice figure skating school gives courses here for every age and level, with classes running from September to June and an intensive course in July. The company also operates mobile rinks, among them those set up for the Valencia Christmas Market and at the City of Arts and Sciences.
The floods of 29 October 2024 damaged the building and forced it to close. Volunteers, athletes and professionals brought it back within a month: the skating school and school groups returned on 2 December, and public skating followed on 6 December.
