A town-owned stadium in its 30th season

The Zimní stadion in Velké Meziříčí belongs to the town and is run by the municipal organisation Sportoviště VM. It is open from August to March, and visitors can come to skate with the public or watch the home games of the local club HHK VM. In August 2025 the stadium started its 30th season with a cooled ice surface.

The operator has been renewing the building: before the 2026/27 season it rebuilt the showers and toilets for people who play sport, put in an LED screen with the club to liven up the atmosphere at the men's games, and installed a new control system in the machine room, which should keep the cooling reliable. A new device for treating the water is being tested to save energy and improve the ice.
