Opened in 2008 to replace the 1974 rink on calle Logroño, and Vitoria's only permanent ice
BAKH Hielo opened in 2008 as part of the BAKH sports complex in Vitoria-Gasteiz. It replaced the old rink on calle Logroño, which had opened in 1974, and it is the city's only permanent ice rink open to the public.
The building has stands and a café with views of the ice. Alongside public sessions, the rink runs skating schools and hosts ice hockey training and competition.
The Club de Hielo Bipolo works with the rink, offering ice hockey from age 6 and figure skating with specialist coaches. Its senior team, which played as Escor BAKH Vitoria for sponsorship reasons, won the Spanish league twice between 2012 and 2014 before the senior side stopped in September 2014. The club now plays in the national under-15 and under-18 leagues, and it won the under-20 league in 2023-24.
