A renewed 1995 artificial ice hall in Völkermarkt used for public skating, school ice and the VST hockey section
The original artificial ice rink in Völkermarkt was built in 1995 and, because of its age, had to be renewed. Together with the town, the LAG Regionalkooperation Unterkärnten and the province of Carinthia the VST put together a renovation package for this large investment. Without it the hall could not have gone on operating, and the club's hockey section, many hobby teams, the busy public skating sessions and the school and kindergarten use across the district would all have lost their rink.
Today the hall hosts hockey, ice-stock shooters and, at the public session, skaters of all sizes and abilities. The club's timetable lists public skating and school skating on weekdays and a public session every Saturday and Sunday afternoon, and the town notes that public skating ends earlier on days with championship matches or ice-stock tournaments.
