Home of Vojens ice hockey since 1973
Vojens Skøjtehal was inaugurated in 1973. Vojens Ishockey Klub, founded on 5 January 1963, had played on the lake Fuglesøen until then, and the new hall became its home. The hall also served SønderjyskE Ishockey until 2011. Locals called it "blikskuret", the tin shed, and a local newspaper marked 38 years of top ice hockey there when the all-time top scorer in Vojens, Egon Kahl, dropped the puck for the last professional match.
A new arena was built in 2011 to replace the old hall. SønderjyskE inaugurated it on 30 January 2011 with a home game against Odense Bulldogs. It has 2,000 seats and 3,000 standing places, a total capacity of 5,000. Vojens Ishockey Klub, an amateur club, is the mother club of SønderjyskE Ishockey.
