A 57 by 27 metre sheet with a hockey and figure skating school and a weekly free-skating block
No public skating is posted for the next 7 days. New sessions show here as soon as the rink posts them.
The Volzhsky ice arena stands at the crossing of two streets in Volzhsky, near Volgograd, and opened in August 2012 as a rink for hockey and figure skating training and competitions. Its ice sheet measures 57 by 27 metres and is kept in shape by a Canadian-made Zamboni resurfacer.
The standard arena, built to the requirements of the KHL, takes up to 120 people at a time. More than 220 children train in the arena's hockey and figure skating school, and amateur hockey teams use the ice in the evening.
Beside the rink there is a large 100 square metre choreography hall and smaller halls of 60 square metres for figure skaters and dancers, and a gym on the third floor. Free skating for the public is announced week by week on the schedule page.
