Covered ice hall run by the Mairhofer family under an agreement with the city of Waidhofen
Currently out of season The city's page says the season is over and prints only last winter's usual weekly hours; the opening date and hours for winter 2026/27 are not posted yet. Official schedule update
The Eishalle Waidhofen an der Ybbs is a covered artificial-ice hall, one of the few in Lower Austria, which has about 30 skating places, most of them open-air rinks that can only run in suitable temperatures. Families, ice stock shooters and ice dancers use it in any weather.
The Mairhofer family runs the hall privately. Before the season reported on in January 2026, the city of Waidhofen set out the cooperation and clear conditions so that the hall could be taken over and stay secured for the long term, at a time when more municipalities were closing ice halls because of higher energy costs and savings measures.
The Saturday ice disco, skating courses and ice stock shooting for clubs and companies are especially popular, and children's skating courses and birthday parties are part of the offer. Three girls of the Eiskunstlaufverein Waidhofen took part in the Lower Austrian championship in St. Pölten that season.
