Currently out of season The City of Wiesbaden's press release says "Dieses Jahr startet „Wiesbaden on Ice" am Freitag, 27. November, dem Freitag vor dem ersten Advent. Germany's largest mobile ice rink, on the Kurhaus Bowling Green
Wiesbaden on Ice has put a rink of about 2,500 square metres on the Bowling Green in front of the Kurhaus since 2023 and calls it the largest mobile ice rink in Germany. The lawn had been used for skating once before, about twenty years earlier. For this return the weight of the rink is spread over several points, and specialists levelled the 90-centimetre slope between the Kurhaus and Wilhelmstraße to within a few millimetres.
A lap takes practised skaters about nine minutes. The boards are transparent and printed, so the view stays open, and the rink's energy comes from certified green electricity. Since 2025 the non-profit Icemotion Sportförderung gGmbH has run the event.
Besides public skating there are ice shows hosted by Daniel Weiss, a former German champion and TV presenter, and DJ Morgentraum turns the ice into a main stage on Saturday evenings. The City of Wiesbaden says the rink opens in late November and runs regularly into January.

Skating with children
Children under 6 may skate only accompanied by an adult and only on skates; in school holidays Monday to Friday 10:00 to 12:00 skating is free for children up to 12 (excluding the skate-hire fee), but a ticket must still be booked.
