A Yaroslavl hockey arena and concert hall that opens its ice to the public on set days
Arena 2000 Lokomotiv, in Yaroslavl, traces its origin to 1997, when the city's hockey team took first place in the Russian championship and the existing sports palace could no longer meet demand. The arena opened on 12 October 2001 with a game between Lokomotiv and Lada of Togliatti.
Besides hockey it has been a concert hall, and the arena's own history page lists foreign acts from Scorpions and Deep Purple to many Russian artists. The ice is shared, so public skating is announced by date: the rink page prints a window of days, marks closed days, and says the administration may change the schedule.
The arena stands at Gagarina street 15 and is run by the joint-stock company Arena-2000. On open days the rink offers hour-long skating at weekday and weekend prices and "hockey hours" within mass skating.
Admission, rentals and arrival details, researched from official rink information. Source checks stay current for 30 days.
