Two-rink hall of 1999 with over 500 seats; in 2019 it got Finland's first digital CO2 refrigeration system
The Ylöjärvi ice hall was completed in 1999 and has two rinks, room for over 500 spectators and curling besides the traditional rink sports, with one of the highest utilisation rates in Pirkanmaa. In November 2010 the town council was deciding to buy the majority stake from Arkta Kiinteistöt, and the hall now belongs to Ylöjärven Jäähalli Oy, a company the town owns.
The hall was reopened in September 2019 after a renovation that began in spring. Its new carbon-dioxide cooling makes cold for both rinks and heat for the other spaces, saving 30 to 40 percent of energy; the system built by Huurre was the first of its kind in Finland, and the ice temperature can be adjusted digitally because figure skaters prefer softer ice than hockey players.
The company says the hall has been a pathfinder in many matters since it was completed.

A helmet is required in the stick sessions and recommended in the stick-free ones; skating is at your own risk and children are always in an adult's care.
