Actualmente fuera de temporada The Glen Ellyn Park District's outdoor skating page describes Sunset Park as a natural ice rink and says the skating season runs from mid-December through the end of February, weather permitting and when ice conditions are determined to be safe. The tennis courts at Sunset Park are transformed into the rink and the district does not use refrigerant coils.
