A 1963 arena in Huron Park with a 2000 lobby retrofit and a rink slab replaced in 2022
Loading public skate, freestyle, and stick & puck times for Stephen Township Arena (Huron Park)…
Stephen Arena in Huron Park was built in 1963. Its front was retrofitted in 2000 with a new lobby, six new dressing rooms, a food service outlet and storage areas, and the new lobby area gives spectators a warm place to watch the ice.
In February 2021 the municipality of South Huron announced that it was taking the ice out of the arena. By October council had approved upgrades, and Mayor George Finch said that adding a full cement pad would make the building more useful in the off-season, when its floor was only sand.
The 2022 renovation replaced the rink slab and added new dasher boards and glass, automatic entrance doors, upgraded spectator seating and a new ice resurfacer room. South Huron Minor Hockey operates the ice programming here.
