Rainbo Sports’ Nashville store is a figure skating pro shop on Travis Drive in south Nashville, a few minutes off Nolensville Pike. It is the southern branch of the Chicago-area retailer that began in 1956 as a small shop inside the Rainbo Ice Arena, and the only figure-skating specialist we found in the Nashville area.
It sharpens skates for competitive and recreational figure skaters and for coaches, and takes hockey skates too. Its service list covers what figure skaters come back for: blade mounting, with shims when a blade needs them, heat molding, boot punching and stretching, plugging, and fitting, including custom fitting. The door marks it as an Edea authorized dealer.
Appointments have priority, though the sign on the door says the staff will do their best with walk-ins, and service prices are given by phone. The store is open Tuesday to Friday from 11 to 7 and Saturday from 9 to 4:30.
