South Daytona's one-sheet ice arena, remodeled in 2018 and home of the DME Swamp Rabbits youth hockey.
Daytona Ice Arena in South Daytona is the area's only ice-skating facility: a 35,000-square-foot building around one NHL regulation-size sheet. Bleachers for more than 300 spectators sit behind the glass on one side of the rink, with The Thaw Zone Café above, and the building also holds Celly's Sports Pub.
New ownership remodeled almost the entire building in 2018, and a partnership with DME Sports Academy brought $1.5 million in upgrades and an expansion of youth hockey; it also turned the Daytona Racers junior team into the Daytona Swamp Rabbits. In 2020 the arena named former NHL player Eric Perrin, a Stanley Cup winner with the Tampa Bay Lightning, its director of hockey.
The rink is home to DME Sports Academy, the Embry-Riddle Eagles, the Flagler Saints, the Volusia Stingrays, the Daytona Beach Figure Skating Club and the Orlando Curling Club, among others, and it hosts school field trips that introduce students to hockey on and off the ice.
