Escambia County's 1985 arena, home to Ice Flyers hockey and a rehearsal stop for touring bands.
Currently out of season The Pensacola Bay Center says it hosts public ice skating sessions from October through April, usually on weekends and after Ice Flyers home games, but its public skate page lists only the March 2026 sessions so far. Official schedule update
The Pensacola Bay Center opened in January 1985 as the Pensacola Civic Center, an indoor arena owned by Escambia County, and took its present name when the county commission voted to rename it on October 18, 2012. Its hockey capacity is 8,082.
Hockey has shaped the building. The Pensacola Ice Pilots used it as their home from the fall of 1996, and hockey returned in fall 2009 when the Pensacola Ice Flyers of the Southern Professional Hockey League began play. The public skating sessions typically occur on the weekends and after Ice Flyers home games, so skaters share the arena with the team that plays there.
Away from the ice, the arena became a rehearsal stop for touring acts. Michael Jackson used the venue to rehearse for his Bad World Tour in early 1988, and Rush opened their Counterparts Tour in Pensacola on January 22, 1994.

Capacity is limited for each session, so the Bay Center advises buying tickets early; groups and season passes go through the box office.
