SkateTech Skate Sharpening & Equipment Repair
SkateTech is a skate sharpening and equipment repair shop in a small strip on Scott Troy Road in O’Fallon, on the Illinois side of the St. Louis metro, a few hundred yards from the McKendree Metro Rec Plex rink. It is a hockey shop at heart, and its site carries notes from former NHL and ECHL players about the sharpening.
Walk-ins are welcome and sharpening is same-day, but the counter closes for a mid-day break on weekdays, so check the walk-in hours before you go. Players can choose a specific hollow, including flat-bottom options, or ask for a one-to-one consultation if they are not sure.
Skates or loose steel can also be shipped in for sharpening or profiling, which suits players in southern Illinois who are not near a counter. The shop sells replacement steel and installs it to spec.
