Canlan Sports Shop at NFP Athletic Centre - York
Canlan’s York arena, now called the NFP Athletic Centre, sits on Murray Ross Parkway near York University, and its Sports Shop sells equipment and apparel and sharpens skates on site. Players who skate here can sort out a dull edge or replace a broken lace without leaving the building, which is especially handy between back-to-back games on a tournament weekend.
Canlan says its shops are staffed by trained blade specialists working with modern equipment. If you need sharpening before an early game, check with the arena the day before, and bring the skates in dry so the edges can be checked properly.
John Booth Memorial Arena is about a kilometre away, and Grandravine Community Recreation Centre is about 3 km to the east.
Not stated: hockey, goalie, figure, speed / long-track, recreational & rental.
