What this place is
The pro shop inside Stouffville Clippers Sports Complex, one of three York Region shops run by Cutting Edge Pro Shops; appointments can be booked from its page.
Cutting Edge Pro Shop at Stouffville Clippers Sports Complex
Of the three rink counters Cutting Edge Pro Shops runs in York Region, the one at Stouffville Clippers Sports Complex keeps the longest hours and has the profiling machine on site, so blades left at the company’s other two counters for a new profile end up here.
The profiling page goes well beyond a single radius: it describes dual, multi-radius, four-radius, elliptical and split profiles, and explains that a profile you like can be copied onto a backup set of steel. That makes it a practical stop for a hockey player or goalie who wants a matched spare pair before a tournament.
Stouffville Arena, home of the company’s other Stouffville counter, is about a kilometre away, and Mount Joy Community Centre in Markham is the next indoor rink to the south.
Sharpens: hockey, goalie, figure, profiling / contouring. Not stated: speed / long-track, recreational & rental.
Blades they sharpen
Hockey, goalie and figure skates. Recreational figure skates can go to any technician; competitive figure skates go to the master sharpener.
