Built in 2011 beside a school wing, after a 1975 two-sheet arena at the Otter Tail County Fairgrounds
No public skating is posted for the next 7 days. New sessions show here as soon as the rink posts them.
Fergus Falls built its Community Arena in 2011, designed by ATSR Architects and put up by Comstock Construction as two pre-engineered steel buildings beside an existing school wing. That 18,000-square-foot wing was remodeled into locker rooms, concessions and community rooms, and the arena adjoins the Roosevelt Education Center.
It followed a two-sheet arena built in 1975 at the Otter Tail County Fairgrounds, whose main rink seated over 1,300 for the Fergus Falls Otters. In 2007 the Fergus Falls Hockey Association asked the city and school board to consider a new community arena connected to a future middle school expansion.
The new building has two NHL-sized sheets, seating 870 in the main arena and 324 in the north arena, and its dasher boards can be removed to turn the space into a venue for trade shows and community events. The Fergus Falls Curling Club plays league games here from November through mid-March.
