Opened October 2019; home ice for Foxcroft Academy Hockey, Penquis Youth Hockey and Ice Dance International
Piscataquis County Ice Arena opened in October 2019 in Dover-Foxcroft, a $5.5 million project paid for by the Libra Foundation. Construction had been under way since July 2018, and the foundation kept ownership of the building while Foxcroft Academy took on day-to-day management. Foxcroft Academy had last fielded a hockey team in 2006-07, when the Ponies played and practiced at the Alfond Arena in Orono.
The building is a heated arena with one sheet of ice, 200 feet long and 85 feet wide, with seating above the boards. It is the home of Foxcroft Academy Hockey, the Penquis Youth Hockey Association and Ice Dance International, along with hockey and skating clinics.
At the October 2019 opening the arena was promised for curling, broomball, public skating, figure skating and "the rebirth of hockey at many levels," and in its first season it ran broomball, figure skating, curling and stick-and-puck alongside the hockey. The operator today is Pineland Farms, Inc.
