The Patinoire René Froger is the municipal rink of Briançon, in the Parc des Sports. It went into service on 22 December 1968, replacing the town's earlier rink at La Chaumière. The ice measures 60 by 30 metres.
The rink was roofed and heated in 1978 and renovated in 2000. It has two side stands, the Antoine Faure stand on the south side and the Yvon Peythieu stand on the north side. Today the building is covered and air-conditioned, so the ice stays in winter and summer alike.
The rink took its name on 6 September 1994, during the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Briançon, in honour of René Froger, a former president of the town's ice hockey club who died in deportation in the Second World War. The Diables Rouges, the city's hockey club, make it their home, and the rink has hosted France's 2006 Olympic qualifying tournament in November 2004 and the 2004 junior world championship, Division I Group B.
