Bucharest's year-round mall rink, open since December 2009

Cotroceni On Ice began in December 2009 and has been inside AFI Cotroceni in Bucharest every day since, whatever the season. It says it is the only skating rink in Bucharest open throughout the year: in winter, being indoors, skaters are sheltered from the cold, and in summer the rink offers a cool break from the city.

Its mascot, the Ice Penguin, is on the ice non-stop with the skaters. The rink's own words describe it as the only rink in Romania where you can go karting on the ice, although the price list showed karting as unavailable in October 2026. Lessons run under a teacher from the Romanian Figure Skating or Hockey Federation, and the locker room is free for people who buy public subscriptions.

After a pause, ice activities resumed in October 2026, with the skating school meeting on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
