Renamed in 2022 for Papadakis and Cizeron

The Patinoire Papadakis & Cizeron was built in 1972 and is the oldest facility run by Clermont Auvergne Métropole. Its Olympic-size ice covers 1,800 square metres, and the rink offers public sessions with a DJ, sound and lights, alongside entertainment, hockey matches, shows and galas.

Local press reported that the rink receives close to 170,000 visitors a year. Its home clubs are Hockey Clermont Communauté Auvergne, Auvergne Danse sur glace and Auvergne Patinage Artistique.

In October 2022 the building took the names of Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron, who were present when the new name was unveiled. The two ice dancers, Olympic gold medallists at Beijing 2022, started skating in Clermont-Ferrand and say they trained at this rink for ten years. They told the press that without a rink in Clermont their destiny would have been very different.
