Municipal rink, reopened in October 2022 after 17 months of renovation
Le Havre's rink is run by the city and has a 56 by 26 metre ice surface with room for 1,045 people, 900 of them seated. The city's hockey club was created in November 1974, and its first match followed in May 1975 against Deuil-la-Barre. A tournament in March 1975 had already brought clubs such as Lille, Caen and Gap, then French champion.
The club won its first game against Rouen in November 1976, 6-4, and entered official competition in Division 3 in 1980. It took the name HAC Hockey in 2001, when the national commission also admitted it, with Chamonix, to the second division for 2001-02.
The rink closed for 17 months of works and reopened on 24 October 2022. It welcomes on average 90,000 users a year.
