The highest ice rink in the Rhine-Main area

The Winterwelt at the Hofgut Laubenheimer Höhe calls its rink the highest ice rink in the Rhine-Main area and the only outdoor ice rink in Mainz. The Barth family had it built in the Hofgarten with a total area of 500 square metres, and next to the skating the same grounds offer ice stock shooting on four separate lanes.

The 2025/26 season ended early: the Winterwelt closed in February 2026 because of the mild temperatures, and the estate thanked its guests for the season. It invites visitors back from November 2026, with families, school classes and company groups welcome from mid-November, and on request it opens the rink earlier for school outings.

Fresh mountain air, mulled wine and alcohol-free punch are part of the visit, as the Hofgut describes it.

Admission

The Panorama-Eisbahn charges 4,00 € for children up to 12 years and 5,00 € for adults; skate hire is 6,00 €, and a 10-ride card is sold as nine rides bought, ten skated. These prices are printed on the page that announces the 2026 season.
