A synthetic skating floor for ice skates and roller skates

The Westerwald Arena is a skating floor right next to the Vorteil-Center in Asbach. Instead of ice it has 450 square metres of Glice, a synthetic material on which both ice skates and roller skates work. The rink therefore does without ordinary ice and its very high energy and water use.

A light show and music accompany the skating, with free skating aids for beginners, and warm food and drinks are served in an air-conditioned pavilion. Between rounds there are arcade machines, including a basketball game, a claw machine and a table football.

Friday and Saturday evenings have a musical theme, and the rink runs ice-skating and roller-skating courses for children aged 6 to 14 and adults from 14. It has held a family festival with a raffle.
