Odense's Flakhaven rink opened in November 2025

The rink on Flakhaven is new. It opened on Friday 28 November 2025 as a collaboration between Odense Kommune and Odense Cityforening, supported by Møllerens Fond and Albani Fonden, and the mayor, Peter Rahbæk Juel, opened it together with skating dancers from the Royal Danish Theatre's ballet school in Odense and ice hockey players from OIK.

The rink measures 20 by 25 metres. MD Ice Event runs it, and its director said the company looked forward to creating a new winter tradition in Odense together with Odense City and the other partners. The programme in the first season included school skating, disco skating, company events and events for students and families, and the rink was open every day through the winter break in week 7.

Admission

Entry to the Odense rink is 65 kr. for 55 minutes of skating, with skate hire included in the ticket.

Skate hire is included in the ticket; skates come in sizes 27 to 47, with a limited number in 26 and 48 to 50.

Skating with children

Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult on the rink, and everyone on the ice, adults with children included, must wear skates. Helmets and gloves are recommended and helmets can be hired in limited numbers.
