A 1,600 m² indoor rink inside the 10,000 m² Orcières Arena 1850, renovated for 2026
Currently out of season The tourist office's page lists the rink as temporarily closed and gives the 2026/27 opening periods as starting on 19 December 2026 and running to 11 April 2027. Checked on 4 October 2026. Official schedule update
The ice rink of Orcières Merlette 1850 is part of the resort's leisure complex, La Grande Ourse, which also holds a covered pool, a spa and a bowling alley. The town of Orcières owns the building and had the Palais des Sports renovated, with a full thermal renovation of the pool and part of the rink and new technical standards across the complex. The complex is now the Orcières Arena 1850, an indoor space of 10,000 square metres renovated in 2026.
The ice covers 1,600 square metres. Music, a giant screen and lighting effects turn the rink into a dance floor on ice, and themed night sessions run twice a week.
Sports clubs can hire the rink or the pool for training camps outside public hours, without supervision, and the complex hosts concerts, entertainment and themed events through the season.
