Inaugurated in 1977 in the Complexe du Baron
The Patinoire d'Orléans sits inside the Complexe du Baron, which was inaugurated on 15 February 1977. The ice measures 56 by 26 metres and the stands hold 920 seated spectators. The rink is open to the public for eight months a year, from September to April.
Four resident clubs use the ice: ASO ice dance, USO figure skating, USO speed skating and Orléans Loiret Hockey sur Glace. The rink hosted the French figure-skating championships in December 2006, for the 2007 title, and held the Masters de patinage artistique every year from 2008 to 2015.
Hockey is run by Orléans Loiret Hockey sur Glace, while the Union Sportive Orléanaise des Sports de Glace covers the skating sections. Orléans Gestion administers the rink, and during school holidays it runs morning skating courses for children and adults.
