Rennes' only double-rink ice centre
Le Blizz is the only double-rink ice arena in its region. A fun rink of 957 square metres (52 by 20 metres) sits beside an Olympic sports rink of 1,745 square metres (60 by 30 metres), so recreational skating, shows and competition ice share one building. It is a municipal facility of the City of Rennes, managed by Citédia Métropole.
Three clubs are based here: the Club des Sports de Glace Rennes, Rennes Danse et Patinage sur Glace and the Rennes Cormorans Hockey Club. The arena keeps 2,000 pairs of skates in sizes 24 to 50 and 715 fixed seats, which are heated to 19 degrees on match and show days.
The rink marked its 25th anniversary with a week of events: games, DJs, freestyle, a brass band, inflatables and ice hockey. Beginners are advised to use the fun rink, where traffic moves more slowly than on the sports rink, and the Blizz Café overlooks both sheets.
