Two buildings: a 1,152 sq m ice arena and a 768 sq m fitness centre, in the Rostov region
Medved Ice Complex stands in the settlement of Ovoshchnoy in the Rostov region. Its founder and investor is the businessman Igor Kalashnik, whose main line of work is the construction business. The first phase of the ice and sports complex has been completed.
The complex consists of two buildings: an ice arena of 1152 square metres and a fitness centre of 768 square metres. The ice field is a training arena, and a fitness club was built on the grounds as well.
The main task of the complex is hockey training. Children from the age of 4 are recruited into ice hockey and figure skating, and mass skating is offered to the public. Kalashnik, who is also director of the HK Medved club, says the Azov district had no professionally equipped rink, and that the Rostov region does not have as many ice complexes as he would like.
