Built in 1989 by two private investors
The Langueux ice rink was built in 1989 on the initiative of two private investors. It is the training home of Les Korrigans, the only ice hockey club in the département, which was founded the same year by Denis Réhault with help from the brothers Olivier and Nicolas Gestin. The club became an independent ice hockey club in September 2000, after starting out affiliated to the French ice sports federation.
The rink also hosts the Club des Sports de Glace d'Armor, a figure skating club, and the tourist office says it welcomes ice sport clubs for training sessions, galas and competitions.
The Korrigans use it for an annual Teddy Bear Toss match, where spectators buy a teddy bear as their ticket and all the bears are thrown on the ice at the club's first goal, and for a Saint Patrick's day event with ice hockey demonstrations. The rink describes itself as a meeting place for artistic, playful, festive and sporting skating, with themed events through the year.
