Home ice of the Bélougas since 1989
The Patinoire Jacques-Raynaud was inaugurated in 1989. Its ice measures 60 by 30 metres, the Olympic dimensions, and the rink was built with room for 1,200 spectators. Henri Laffit, a former president of France's national ice hockey committee, travelled to Blagnac to supervise the works.
The opening changed hockey in Toulouse. The city's club had been sharing its ice hours with seven figure-skating clubs; in 1989 it became the independent Toulouse-Blagnac Hockey Club, and it now counts more than 300 licensed members. Its senior team, nicknamed the Bélougas, plays its Division 2 matches here.
Blagnac Patinage sur Glace, created in 1990, is the rink's resident figure-skating club and closes each season with a gala for all its skaters. A cafeteria with a panoramic view of the ice is open to skaters in their skates.
