A 1964 city rink with a 28 by 58 metre ice surface, now getting a second ice hall beside it.
Currently out of season The city's page says public skating (Publikumseislauf) runs from early October to March and that the current times are in the hall's daily operating plan and on its Facebook page. The plan read on 3 October 2026, covering 4 to 11 October, lists only club training, matches and maintenance, so no public sessions are listed here. Official schedule update
The city of Villach built its ice-sports facility in 1964 and has extended it over the decades: a new roof and larger stands in 1990, and a re-laid ice surface in 2000. The ice measures 28 by 58 metres and the stands hold up to 4,200 spectators at events. It is the home rink of EC VSV, whose first team and junior sides train there in the mornings.
Since April 2025 a second ice surface has been under construction beside the hall. The new side hall is joined to the old one by a connecting wing and will house Austria's first national women's ice hockey performance centre. The city planned to finish the building in October 2026 and to hold the official opening in November.
Both halls are meant to be used together or separately, from hockey training and matches to public skating and tournaments.
