Zell am See's artificial-ice rink since December 1967

The Eishalle in Zell am See got its artificial-ice rink on 6 December 1967, solemnly opened for the Zeller Eisbären hockey club. The club had played for almost forty years on tennis courts in the town centre, where the Prof. Ferry Porsche Congress Centre now stands.

The whole rink was roofed from May 1989, with new stands on the south and west sides. The last big rebuild came in 2003 and reduced the capacity to 2,600 spectators (1,200 seats and 1,400 standing places). For the 2021/22 season the Eisbärenarena was renamed KE KELIT Arena, and a renovation of the hall ran from spring 2022 to autumn 2023.

The hall belongs to the Freizeitzentrum Zell am See, run by the Zeller Fremdenverkehrs GmbH like the indoor pool, beach pool, sauna and bowling alley. Its 1,800 square metres of ice serve the Eisbären's home games and, in winter, public skating, Eisstock shooting and other events.
