Frozen Daydream is an open-air rink next to the Ferry Porsche Congress Center, run by the Tourismusverband Zell am See-Kaprun. It was the first time the board offered such infrastructure, and it had to learn a good deal along the way.
The local press gave the reasoning: the Zeller See has not frozen for skating for several years and the Eishalle is often a little too full, so the rink is an alternative in the middle of town, and the board points to the town's long skating and ice hockey tradition. The ice measures 200 square metres, with a hut serving punch and snacks, and ice discos are among the events offered.
The board owns all the equipment, including skates in sizes 25 to 46, and a tractor with an ice resurfacer renews the ice every night. It set itself the aim of offering the rink in the coming years too, and at the start planned to keep it open until at least mid-March, weather permitting.
