The Aspen Ice Garden has been part of Aspen's history for the past 50 years. Renovated in 2013, it stands in Aspen's downtown core, with bleacher seating for 150, and visitors come to the renovated rink for the special events it hosts.
It is home ice for local figure skating clubs, Aspen Junior Hockey, adult recreational and women's hockey leagues, and the Aspen Curling Club, and the ice can be rented in winter.
The building isn't just for hockey and skating. In summer the ice comes out and it becomes an 82-by-184-foot event floor: two dry-floor events come to town every summer, the Rare Aspen and Art Aspen shows, and roller skating is offered seasonally. The ice itself is taken out for the summer.
