Home of the CCHL’s Cornwall Colts

The Ed Lumley Arena is the NHL-sized rink inside the Cornwall Civic Complex, built with the building in 1976. The Cornwall Royals of the QMJHL and later the OHL played here from 1976 to 1992, and the American Hockey League’s Cornwall Aces also called it home.

Today it is home to the Cornwall Colts of the Central Canada Hockey League. The 27,000-square-foot arena has a removable NHL-size ice surface under a 43-foot acoustical ceiling, seven dressing rooms and a professional team room. It first held 3,983 seats; the City finished the lower bowl during the complex’s 2008 renovation, raising capacity to 4,639, and now lists seating for more than 4,800.

The arena hosted the Royal Bank Cup in May 2008 and a World Junior hockey exhibition game, and it doubles as a concert stage. Its largest recorded crowd, more than 4,000, watched the Colts beat the Gloucester Rangers 4–3 in Game 7 of the 1996 Bogart Cup Final.
