One NHL-size rink inside a 90,000-square-foot complex in Waldorf, operated by Black Bear Sports Group
The Capital Clubhouse is a 90,000-square-foot recreation and sports complex in Waldorf, Maryland, operated by Black Bear Sports Group, Inc. Its NHL-size ice rink shares the building with a 200-by-85-foot multi-sport court and a rock climbing wall, and the center runs year-round for all ages.
Eight locker rooms and four party and meeting rooms back the sports floors, and Exurb Fitness occupies the second floor. The facility is home to many user groups, and on-site businesses operate inside the complex alongside them.
On the ice, the Southern Maryland Skating Academy runs the figure skating side. Hockey at the Clubhouse is built around the SOMD Sabres and Ice Force, with the Future Caps and Sabres Rookie Program learn-to-play-hockey tracks feeding new players in, and Foundry Adult Hockey covering the adult game.
