Tucker Road Ice Rink is the rebuilt county rink in Fort Washington, reopened on August 28, 2021, four years after a fire destroyed the original arena. The January 2017 fire burned down a decades-old building that was, when the state approved rebuilding funds in 2018, the only ice rink in the southern part of Prince George's County. M-NCPPC rebuilt it as a $28 million NHL-size facility, with the community taking part in the design of the new rink.
The new building is built around one NHL-size rink used for hockey and figure skating, with a dance room for stretching, a heated seating area and a community lounge with a fireplace. Its design draws on the nearby Henson Creek, named for Matthew Henson, the first African American to explore the Arctic, with themes of ice, the Arctic and the northern lights. The Tucker Road Ducks are the home youth hockey program, run by the Tucker Road Parent Hockey Organization that Briggs-Blake founded in 2013 to make hockey accessible and affordable to children of all backgrounds; it takes boys and girls at beginner and experienced levels.
The Ducks returned to home ice in December 2021, almost five years after the fire, and the parent organization has partnered with the Capitals and the NHL diversity and inclusivity team.
