Opened in Steinbach in August 2025

The Southeast Event Centre opened with a ribbon-cutting on August 21, 2025, six years after it was first proposed. The City of Steinbach, the non-profit Southeast Events Group and the federal-provincial Investing in Canada Infrastructure program built it together, and the City keeps ownership. It replaced the Steinbach Centennial Arena, which opened in 1967 and was torn down in June 2023.

The 112,000-square-foot building holds an NHL-size rink with 2,400 seats and a direct link to the T.G. Smith Arena next door, giving the centre two indoor ice surfaces. The Steinbach Pistons, who played at the T.G. Smith Centre from 2009 to 2023, now open their Junior A seasons in the new bowl. The T.G. Smith side still hosts the community's minor hockey, ringette and figure skating.

For concerts and trade shows the bowl reconfigures for up to 4,000 people, and the centre's event list runs from curling bonspiels to sledge hockey tournaments. Visitors come in through a 35-foot-high atrium of mass timber and glass.
