Whitecourt's twin-rink JDA Place, home of the Alberta Junior Hockey League's Whitecourt Wolverines.
JDA Place, Whitecourt's twin arenas, houses two ice rinks, the McLeod Rink and the Athabasca Rink. The McLeod Rink opens in mid to late August and stays open until the end of March, the Athabasca Rink keeps the same late-August-to-March season, and JDA Ventures Ltd. sponsors the building.
The main tenant is the Whitecourt Wolverines of the Alberta Junior Hockey League's North Division, who play before seating for 1,058. The franchise began in 1976–77 as the Fort Saskatchewan Traders, was approved to move to St. Albert in 2007, and arrived in Whitecourt on May 2, 2012, when the St. Albert Steel relocated. It took its name from the town's junior B Whitecourt Wolverines of the North West Junior Hockey League.
