Beijing 2022's hockey training rinks

Huaxi LIVE's ice centre was built at the south-east corner of the Wukesong Sports Center to house ice hockey training for the Beijing 2022 Winter Games, and it has two rinks. Its grille facade, with diagonal slats crossing at 45 degrees to form a snowflake pattern, gives it the nickname 冰菱花. The centre's Games duties ended on 17 February 2022, and both rinks opened to the public on 1 April.

Each rink can switch between 60 by 30 metres and 60 by 26 metres. The south rink has mostly hosted hockey training, while the north rink carries the skating lessons. Each of the six changing rooms is larger than 150 square metres, and the ice is made with purified water and flooded with water at 80 degrees Celsius.

The north rink is a 1,800-square-metre surface built to Olympic competition standards. Its public sessions are mixed, with skating, figure skating and hockey sharing the ice and a fenced-off area for hockey, and Starlight Field International Ice Center publishes the ice-time sheet each week.
