Skating with children
Children under 8 may go on the ice with a parent or an older companion, who buys skates on the same terms.
Weekend mass skating at the Yunost palace, home of the Tatarsk district hockey championship
The Yunost ice palace in Tatarsk was built under the federal programme for developing physical culture and sport for 2006 to 2015, on an agreement between the Novosibirsk regional government and the Ministry of Sport. When building began, the western part of the region had no comparable sports facility.
The palace trains the district sports school's children's teams and is home to the Yunost young men's team and the Panthers women's team. It also stages the open hockey championship of the Tatarsk district, whose table and results the palace posts on its own site. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday, with a break over lunchtime, and closed on Mondays.
Mass skating is held on Saturdays and Sundays. The house rules ask skaters to arrive early for each hour, to skate against the clock, and to leave the ice when the siren sounds; children under eight go on the ice with a parent or an older companion.
Skates & rentals. Skate hire is RUB 70 an hour and sharpening is RUB 100 a pair.
Admission. An hour of mass skating on your own skates costs RUB 50.
